It just seems like noone cares.I tried telling my dad how im feeling,and he said im just saying all this to get attention,but,im not.He said he doesnt believe me,and I dont know what to do anymore.I just feel like giving up.Noone would care if I did.My dad wont take me to the doctor,even when i ask him to.He just doesnt care.

have you called crisis services, they usually come to you, where are you located?

Depressedgirl, I am sure that right now you are hurting. Let the school nurse, guidance counselor, social worker, or someone you trust, know how you feel. The more you share with others the more someone can do to help you.

Hi Depressedgirl,
Sorry your father doesn't seem to believe you. Don't we all want attention when we are hurting? I know I do. Is there someone else you could talk to that you trust and can talk to about the issues you have? Maybe they could convince your father that you really do need to go to the doctor. I dont have anyone else in my family that lives near me that can drive except my sister,but,she hurt her leg,so she cant drive right now.I just dont understand why my dad dont believe me.

When I was a teenager & got really depressed I called my GP. My father was busy with his yachting crowd (partying) & my mother was dead. I was in a boarding school. My GP took the time to see me every week (my dorm parent drove me in), listened to me & gave me good advice & never charged me! She kept my confidentiality & never told my father I was seeing her.
Years later she came to my wedding. You might try calling your doc.--Suzy |

Hey,What is a GP?I could try calling my doctor,but,i would still have to find someone to drive me there.

GP stands for general practitioner, like your regular medical doctor. I remember you from docjohn's chat last week when you indicated that your dad was pretty sick himself. I agree that your best bet for getting some help would be through school. You're there everyday, getting there isn't a problem and they always have school counselors and/or caring teachers who are willing to listen and help.
