Well, first of all, Happy 4th to you all in America. I hope that it will be a good day for you. I'm having it off today.

A friend of mine last night asked me if I can come with him and his wife to the fireworks show. He's planning on going to a waterfront place where they will have it. I don't feel like going for various reasons.

First of all, it will be with him and his wife. I don't feel like going as a "threesome". I am not crazy about his wife, also. And they are much older than me.

Another reason for not wanting to go is because of the crowds and the traffic. I've gone to those shows before and it takes forever to get home. Lots of sitting still in traffic. I can't deal with the noise and drunks. My friend told me that he may take the trolley to go there. So I get the feeling I would end up driving there, in which I do not want to do it.

I hope that he will not be mad. I did tell him that I was not that interested in going. He has a hard time taking "no" for an answer. He can be a very stubborn old man at times.
Hugs from:

Hi Will,
Happy 4th of July! I loved that Holiday when I was in the US. It was summer and there was this multicultural festival at the Mall. Hope your friend understands and does not push much. To me it is tricky. I am inclined to avoid invitations like that but sometimes I say "yes" and then I have a good time. Ok, hope you enjoy the day anyway

I think that you already have made up your mind about not going.

I don't really feel like it either....however I live pretty much in a city and my dad was wanting to go up to the mountains for fireworks, and It would be nice to get out of town for a while so I probably will go.

But yeah I hope things work out for you, and they are somewhat understanding that you're just not up for it....its never a good idea to go and do something you don't want because you feel pressured.
