I'm so tired all the time. I can't work, I can barely function. Does anyone have any tips besides sleep (I get 7 + a night) and caffeine? I'm so sick of it.

Fatigue is so tiring (lol). I find catnapping in the day helps, especially if I can get outside and snooze in the sun. Fresh air and exercise are the usual tips, but they are more effective for mild or moderate depressions, once it is severe I seem to need to take to my bed.
Hope you get some relief soon. |

Exercise.
I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous! I'm bipolar type two and I understand how debilitating fatigue can be in depression. Yesterday I was that exhausted I felt like every single cell in my body had given up on me. I average about 16 hours sleep a day in depression and its still not enough. My mind can't function and my motivation is non existant. Try your hardest to get out there and go for a walk. Get your heart rate up, even go for a sleep afterwards if it exausts you. Then try again. Jog. Run, one session of yoga, anything. In my experience once you get in to a little bit of a routine that fatigue starts to ease off a little and it helps you function during the day. Its just that first push to get out there that's the hurdle! Xxx

Hi Melmo
I am sorry to read about your fatigue. I suggest that you see your doctor and ask for a full physical check-up. There are many possible explanations for your fatigue (thyroid gland abnormalities are an example) but the results of a detailed check-up should shed some light on this and lead to effective treatment. All the best.

Fatigue, no energy, no motivation, is my biggest symptom of depression. Other things can cause it but not in my case.

I have the same problem. May I suggest you check with a sleep doctor for any undiagnosed sleeping disorders? That's what happened to me, with my sleep apnea.
