I just feel like a really slow slug on my medication and in general. I am also always empty or sad...I wish there was a way out. I got diagnosed with severe depression since six years ago and I had this for my whole life so that's twenty years...
Anybody have any coping skills? I also am horrible at socializing and I think I have more then a social phobia...I am afraid of people and I just can't speak at all sometimes. I even had trouble recognizes facial expressions when I was young and I still do. What should I do? |

Hello iceyrain, welcome to Psych Central.
It would be worth going back to your doctor if you feel the medication is making you feel sluggish, sometimes it can take a while to find the right combination. Also, anxiety and depression like to hold hands. Do you have therapy? You can find out the causes and understand it all a little better and learn some coping mechanisms. You can build up your own toolbox of things that work for you. For me, I find distractions helpful, like coming here, playing computer games, listening to music etc. Talking here helps, you're not alone in how you feel. ![]()
