I often fear that even if I do the things that I want to, that I will just want something else. I don't want to be this black hole... Chasing after happiness

Well I think we all feel that way sometimes. I do hope that you get the answers and support from this forum that you want and need. I know there are probably others here that can relate to how you are feeling.

Hi Women Overboard, well there is a chance that you might want something more after you do the things you want to...........but if they fulfill you at the time, how can that be wrong?? How can following your dreams, whether they work out or not be wrong??
And some things we do move on from..........they aren't made/or meant to keep us happy for ever. You might want different things down the line, we do sometimes change as people in certain aspects, but that doesn't need to be a bad thing at all. And having different enjoyable/fulfilling experiences can be a good thing. And you don't even necessarily have to be looking for things that may make you happy at the time, it can be about keeping an "open mind", taking a chance, and trying different things/seeing what they bring you. Then it isn't always that good to be living from one "temporary" pleasure to another, if that's the way it ends up going so maybe in trying/doing different things you can find a true "passion" or "passions". And if/when you do then yes, it might ebb and flow/be good, not so good, good again..........but those are the things you maybe should try to hold on to or come back to??? Just because you move away from them doesn't mean they can't still bring you happiness down the road....... And then there's the whole separate theory that true happiness comes from inside you if you can seek/tap it ![]() But that's a whole nother thing you might or might not want to check out??? Up to you?? ![]() ![]() But you know when it comes to depression..........sometimes even things that "should" make you happy, that would make you happy without the depression can seem meaningless, just don't really touch you, still leave you feeling empty..............so maybe it's as much worth trying to work through the depression, and even get support with that if you need to??? And for that.........whatever resonates with you. Although there is support out there if you need it.........from doctor's, T's and/or us!!!! We are pretty good on here, you know ![]() So just a few thoughts............. ![]() ![]() Alison |

I don't buy nice stuff because I figure when I crash again I'll lose it all, so my house is sparsely furnished with mediocre stuff. If I lose it it won't be such a big loss then. It is hard to look at catalogs, especially this time of year, and dream of having a beautiful home. ![]()
