Am I the only person this happens to? I would like to go into more detail but it's not allowed

I really don't have an answer for you because I don't drink. However, I was a bartender and barmaid and I noticed that the type of alcohol people drank made a big difference in their behavior. I think it is very possible that it could make suicidal thoughts worse. Maybe you should change your choice of drink.

Alcohol is a depressant and can lead to severe depression. Find a way out of drinking if you can. AA has programs. You can wean yourself off it.
Glad you spared the details because some people get triggered by them. See a pdoc and see what medicine will help you. There must be more than alcohol. See a pdoc or a therapist

Eventually I realized I wasn't helping my self get better and was actually making myself worse. So I pretty much stopped drinking and I make sure not to drink at all if I'm feeling even a little suicidal. |

In my drinking days when I was really depressed I didn't feel to much like drinking, but when I did it made the depression much much worse.

When I drink my suicidal thoughts become more realistic and more prone to happen , so I guess no you're not the only person it happens to.
