I am turning 40 on jan 2 and it is killing me inside to think that I am 40 yrs old .I can't really seem to accept it. I have postpartum depression and everything seems bleak.i did not keep up with my career even though i'm highly educated and was someone who held an important position. I quit my job. I feel like a complete failure, turning 40 with depression and no job. Does 40 mean entering mid life and it is terrifying to think that I may never have the dream life I envisioned. How do I deal with my birthday?? I'm crying nonstop thinking about it.

Hi pink villa,
Many here are suffering like you. This place is a good one, you will find support and good peer advice. In my experience, it is not the bday, the age, etc. it is about depression. Like bday is the flesh but depression is the bones. It is a condition, and, damn!, we need to understand it is not our fault or it is not we are failure. I hope you stay with us to find some relief and friendship. A hug
