I have schizophrenia, and a common comorbidity for it is depression. I suffer from that as well. My PDoc put me on 10mg of Lexapro (SSRI). That was too much, I couldn't feel any emotions on it so I went down to 5mg. I do well the entire day until after 5pm. Then the depression gets darker and darker. What can I do to fight this? I take Omega 3 fatty fish oil pills. I also go to therapy every week. I try to write poetry, talk to my family, watch shows to distract me, go to this forum. I don't know what else I can do to combat this. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Why would the Lexapro (SSRI) work all day until after 5pm?

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance everybody.

Hi Odysseus. Keep up with the poetry, inspiring.

Probably time to talk to pdoc and see if add something else for after 5 depression or maybe something with lexapro like 5 mg in am and 5 mg in pm. That may not snow you and still give you feelings. Don't know, talk with pdoc

Thank you CANDC. I'll talk to my PDoc and see what he can do for me. I did tell him about my night time depression and he nodded because I didn't have it while at 10mg instead of the 5mg. Honestly, I'd rather feel some depression than nothing at all. That's the worst. However, who wants to feel this way if there is another alternative?

I take my 5mg of Lexapro at around 5pm with my dinner and the rest of my meds. I also have tried Wellbutrin but I had a terrible reaction to that.
