So just to update on my depression, it continues to get worse and I continue to have wishes of death. Feel stuck, appetite and memory are suffering. My mind feels like it is constantly tired. I always feel dehydrated despite how much water I drink. I'm surprised to still be alive each morning I wake up. I don't think therapy or medication will ever work since it has been almost a year of it by now. Don't see my therapist until the 12th, though I don't really care about it and might just stop going altogether. I've already stopped taking my pills.

I have just been through a year of trying medications and the one I am on now is starting to work. There might be a medication that works for you. If you give up now you will never know.

Please don't give up hope ABB. There is a medication, or some treatment, or just the passage of more time, that will help you. Keep coming on here for support.

((( AbsurdBlackBear ))) yeah I know what you mean, at least partly. Good luck. I don't think it's a good idea to just give in to this. I'm trying not to.

Can't tell you how many times in my life I have been in the exact spot. Nothing seems to work, no hope, no point in trying, pray to die each night. I can tell you one thing. It always passes. After twenty years of meds a new one I am on now is working better than any med I have ever taken. Not that none of them ever worked. They did. It's just this one is working way better than any of the others. So you never know. Normally beginning of Nov. to a couple weeks into Jan. would be my absolute worse just about every year. This year I had a great holiday season and never dove to the depths. Never never stop trying is our theme around here, even if you just have to ride it out. It will change.

Black Bear...

The hell with girls, they ruin your life.

Hang on to hope my fair friend, there is much more to life than women. There IS a right medication for you, AND you have to constantly work and cooperate in therapy of you want to get better.

I'm glad you found a medication that works for you. I've already given up on getting better so guess I'll never know.

I've been trying meds for only a year and none of them worked at all. I know there are plenty more to try, but just don't really see the point anymore. Glad that you got your meds right though and glad you had a great holiday season.

Haha, I'm not even worried about girls anymore because I've given up on everything I ever wanted in life. Thanks for your kindness though.

It took a long time, over five years probably more like ten, to find a medication that actually worked. Please keep trying. I know it is difficult and seems pointless, but life is worth living. Think of the people and animals in your life right now that love you. You are an intelligent, talented young man. Depression saps our energy and makes it hard to fight. Don't give in. We care about you!

Dear AbsurdBlackBear,

URGENT!!

See an MD right away. Excessive thirst is an early symptom of diabetes.

It may well be that medical/nutritional problems are also what's triggering your depression. See post #74 of this thread

So I am back on my medication and trying to get better again even though I feel it is hopeless. A lot of feelings of apathy are now replaced with sadness. So I guess that is a positive?
