Does anyone have any info to give me about their experiences? Otherwise things are going OK I guess. I am currently weaning off prozac and going on Zoloft.
THANKS! |

I've actually never heard of anyone experiencing insomnia with Zoloft. I was on Zoloft for 7 yrs and never had a problem with sleep.
But Insomnia can be a side effect.... it should pass within 6 weeks once your body is use to the chemicals.. I wouldn't worry too much.. it will pass. <font color=red>~Sundance~</font color=red> <font color=blue>"Never react emotionally to criticism. Analyze yourself to determine whether it is justified. Are you taking it in the am or the pm? I would give it a chance and also keep your doctor informed.
My first experience with zoloft it made me sleepy, i took it at night and it helped me relax and sleep. I started on it again recently... i took it at night expecting it to make me sleepy but this time it gave me insomnia. i switched to morning but it was still effecting my sleep so my doc switched me to celexa which i am taking at night successfully now. so the "rule" is that there are no rules unfortunately... but i didn't have any other bad experiences with the zoloft so give it a chance, tell your doc about the side effects and see if he suggests an adjustment or switching the time you take it or something else. Good luck with it hopefully it will work out well for you. ------------------------------------ --http://www.idexter.com

I started taking lexapro about 6 weeksa ago. After being on it for a couple weeks my doc upped the dose to 20mg. After the dose was raised I was having a terrible time falling asleep. He suggested that I try taking it at a different time of the day (I was taking it in the evening). I started taking it in the morning and my problems with getting to sleep disappeared almost immediately.
Adjusting the time you take it is worth a try, probably better than relying on another pill to get you to sleep. I was a bit sluggish at first taking in the morning but over time my body has adjusted. ![]()

I take it in the morning now. I don't know how I could adjust this to help the problem. It doesn't make me sleepy. Maybe I just have to give it the 6 weeks.

Sometimes Zoloft won't make you feel sleepy, just give it the 6 weeks sounds like side effects to me. There is a small precentage of people that get insomnia with this drug.. hang in there.. it should pass.
