I can't read things like I used to be able to and follow plots in the soaps. My concentration is going downhill. It's like I have a slow brain. I can't concentrate on conversations, I couldn't even explain a simple tv show to my boyfriend's dad the other day without pausing mid sentence and forgetting what to say next. My boyfriend doesn't want an embarrassing gibbering wreck for a girlfriend, I feel like I don't deserve him.

Hi,

Did you know that there are lots of purely medical/nutritional issues that can strongly affect your brain and can cause mental problems? See point #1 here

http://forums.psychcentral.com/4262681-post105.html

Even if you don't have those specific issues, chronic stress from depression is known to be bad for your brain and I certainly feel that myself. I think that means that becoming un-depressed is also a great way to improve your brain as well. In my experience, also, my brain is very like a muscle in the sense that if I don't keep using it intensively, it gets flabby without me particularly noticing it. Also, if I do manage to concentrate and learn or create something new, that always is a big boost for my mood. Brain training software is another interesting possiblity for this. I haven't tried it myself, but someone on this site found that it was a huge help with their depression.

Good luck! Go Get em! Keep in touch!

Thanks for this!

I've tried these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Optineuro%C2...ntration+pills

Hoping they would help but they haven't really although I haven't been taking them day after day so I dunno if that is not helping things.
