Ok so I'm on like three different drugs. I'm Prozac (which I've had increased three times, is that normal?), Abilify because I hear voices that tell different things and Clanzapan (spelling?) for panic attacks. I'm really starting to wondering if the Prozac is actually working because a lot of the time it feels like it doesn't. Is that how I'm supposed to feel? When I first started it back in April of 2014 it felt great but now I'm not so sure.

(((SB))) Prozac can be started at 10mg and increased to 80mg daily depending on your symptoms and your doctor, so these increases are not unusual. If you feel this medication is not working for you, you may want to discuss it with your prescribing doctor. Best wishes and be well!!!

Sad brunette,

Are the voices inside or outside of your head? I hear voices too, but I'm pretty sure my voices are DID related and cannot be treated with meds due to DID being a cognitive emotional disorder, not neurological. My concern is I seen you post on the DID website. I'd hate for you to be taking meds that aren't necessarily needed. I'm not a doctor or anything, but I know most psychiatrist don't know anything about DID and might be prescribing you meds for schizophrenia related voices when that might not be what's wrong with you.

On a side note, I was prescribes Abilify for "nerves" and those pills made me feel like a zombie. They made me depressed and feel like a shell of a former self. Everyone reacts to meds differently, that's what makes it so difficult to prescribe them. Anyway, just giving you my two cents. Hope you feel better!

SSRIs, which Prozac is can kind of stop working. That's happened to me several times. I've had to change anti depressants multiple, multiple times. Abilify can be used as an anti psychotic for hallucinations and delusions but it can also be used to augment antidepressants and help them work better. I don't know what dose you're on, but maybe an increase in that may help? Might be something to discuss with your doctor. Good luck. It's been my experience that it's a lot of work to find the correct med combo that works and keeps working.
