My bed is my sanctuary. It has become my safe place. I am trying so hard to over come my depression and get out of bed and start working out. Putting a schedule in place. I am so lonely. Have tried so many drugs..

Hello and welcome to Psych Central Kfd12359!!! It's nice to meet you. Yes!!! You need to get out of that bed. They are addicting. If you have a TV in the bed room, take it out. Perhaps migrate to the couch for awhile. Open the blinds, and curtains. You've got to switch it up. Stimulate your senses. I tried a lot of drugs before they got it right too. Don't give up. It's good your putting a workout schedule in place. Do you think you may be on something that's a little too sedating? Might want to check this out with your prescribing doctor. Please feel free to contact any community liaison if you need help navigating the forums here. I look forward to seeing you around!!! I'm glad you're here!

Welcome to our group! I too, find myself in bed far too much. I eventually, everyday, force myself up and into the shower and then to do something productive like cooking dinner or baking something.

Feeling useful and productive always makes me better, but getting to a point where I can drag myself out of this bed is a long process

Hello , I've have depression/anxiety and had it in the past

So please please don't think these tips for getting out of bed are being faciciuos or insensitive , because I've been through periods of not getting out of bed

one . set an alarm clock for say 10am but put the alarm at the other end of your bedroom , so that you have to get up to switch it off
Two , this is the best . drink a fair size glass of water before bed , then around 6/7/8 hours later , you will definitely need to go on the toilet .
Bye
