so since it's been hot and sticky i have been unrecognizable in that my kids and i have all been getting showers everyday to wash off the disgusting sunscreen and sweat and sandbox and everything i hate about summer. seriously this has to stop lol.
so yesterday i noticed the start of a rash (eczema?) on my little one and redness on my older one's skin as well. my skin feels dry as well and my feet ache on the bottom like they are cracked and overdry
maybe there is something to be said for not showering so much. today i just want to shut the sun out and keep the kids in and not shower. save water and soap. i wish it would rain for days.

Cetaphil is a good very gentle cleanser that can be used with or without water.
Thanks for this!

Try the Aveno Oatmeal body wash. use it in a hot tub as you soak with bath salts. Makes your skin soft as silk... Then again it's a good sign that you have motivation enough to take a shower Call that a plus. I haven't showered for 3 days because for some odd reason it feels more a mountain than I can even climb.

I'm like you... I HATE THE HEAT. I could move to Northern Canada and feel so much more comfortable. Summer is awful in the south and I would take -30F any day of the week during the dead of winter in North Dakota, but I'm stuck in the South too.

Heat for me equals "slug, sweaty, slow, sticky, suffocating, and simply intolerable. Every breath in humid heat feels like having the life sucked out of you.

Even during the summer, I do not use soap everyday, but I scrub my body to get rid of the sweat and dirt. It works well. You can also dilute the soap 50/50 so it still cleans but is not as harsh. My skin is super sensitive and soap isn't fun, but smelling good is a must lol :P

yeah, I know there are alternatives to getting clean that won't be so harsh on our skin, I still don't like bathing every day and think it's better for our skin not to. I'm on strike now we're on day three no baths lol. I'm getting around it by taking kiddos outside later in the day so there is less need for sunblock, plus baby wipes and wet towels in the smelly places...
