Mainly because I can relate- you might've already seen it- it's one of the articles on Psychcentrals mainpage: Confessions of a Depressed Mental Health Advocate | Don't Call Me Crazy

I can relate mainly to it because I try to pretend I'm fine when I'm not because I don't like to be a downer for others- and I'm a very private person by nature and don't want to share what I'm going through with aquaintances and strangers who could care less . . . and I can relate o feeling like a failure and hating the world at times- though I feel like a failure normai=lly anyway sooooo .. .. yeah

Thanks for this! It was good for me to read as I am going through the same thing. I am constantly helping others even though I can't help myself, and seeing I am nit alone makes me feel better

Thank you for sharing this article. I too, often find myself helping other people. I know what to tell them because it is what I long to hear. I want someone to tell me it's okay to be me. Good job for getting out of bed and taking shower. That is better than not getting out of bed at all. When my house is a mess and I get overwhelmed no one understands. If I were to visit a friend and saw she was struggling I would make her some tea and sit on the couch with her and let her know that the mess will be there when she is ready to tackle it. It is hard to be us but easy to help other people not be like us.
