I don't know how many of you remember me from my posts in the past, but I was going through some serious depression due to rape, and family and friendship issues. However, over time I've met new people and experienced new things. After being MIA for 2 months to my friends (mid-January -> mid-March of this year), I've had all that time to think about my life, and how much it sucked and how much I'd love to die at any time. But as March started coming around, I still couldn't help but start lightening up. Life didn't seem so bad. I mean sure I went through a lot and it's all made me stronger. You can't erase the past neither can you change it. So I learned to stop letting my past ruin my future. I can still be happy. And that's exactly what I made happen. It's up to you to rid your depression. If you want to be depressed then be depressed. Just know that you can control it if you want to. Life doesn't have to suck if you don't want it to. You can't just wish for things to get better, you have to get up and make them better. I'm just trying to express myself a little, maybe motivate someone out there. I want to thank everyone in this forum for helping me and being there for me like true friends though you didn't even know me. Changes

Possibly people are at different levels of healing and it would be very difficult to just control thier depression. Each individual is so different and reacts accordingly. Unfortunately for many to just stop being depressed is not an option as there is more to it.

I am so glad that you have found your way to happiness. That is the important thing. And you are so right you can not change the past. Sometimes it just takes a while to process. Again I am so happy for your growth and healing. I hope eveyone can find the peace and happiness you seem to have. Take care.
