I know that almost every other teen feels this, but its still true. I can't keep a relationship due to trust issues. I have no friends because i don't like going places or doing things. And no one(not even my family) wants to be around me. And the only thing I do all day is train train train. I'm a gymnastics bot basically. All I do every single day is do flips on a mat back and forth. I feel like Augustus Waters, who continually threw existentially fraught free throws. He never believed that basketball would get him anywhere, and i feel like life will never get me anywhere. Just because I am depressed people think i am pitiful

Welcome to Psych Central, sorry that you are feling so rough, I'm sure no one thinks you are pitiful, but I know depression is very persuasive and constantly gives out that message. I don't know about how normal teens feel, I was never a normal teen and it was such a long time ago too, but my advice would be to try and talk to someone. Maybe your gymnastics coach could help, rather than jumping in and talking about being depressed you could start by talking about struggling with motivation and see where that leads?

Hi Friend
you seek compassion which has become a rare commodity. you should be proud that you can hang out in gymnastics all day long, where as so many depressed people can hardly get out of the bed. learn to feel gratitude for all the wonderful things. try to help out newcomers in gymnastics.

Hang on in there as best you can. If you can, reach out to help or support someone eg. Younger gymnast? They will feel cared for and you may feel better about yourself. Even for a millisecond is something! Sending caring thoughts.
