I didn't know where to put my thread but as I'm going out of a depression, it seemed to me a good idea coming here.
I'm awared of how hard is to setting goals when you are deep in a depression but I guess many of you are getting of it now.

I heard about a quote by Jesse Jackson that says more or less this (it's my own translation from Spanish- I googled the English version but I couldn't find it) : The bad thing about dreams is not the failure in achiving them but not having them.

I consider myself a pretty mediocre person. And bc of my problems I never had the confidence to improve, so I go on life without wanting changes, fears of changes, putting up with being once more in my profession, avoiding participate in group activities, saying a no to each posibility to socialize...

Today, I thought , I reflected on what I want to get in my life. I wrote all these goals down in different topics -professional- affective life and social life-.
I wrote the steps to give to reach one of them and I'm determined to achieve them. More than ever.

Hopeful you find it helpfull.

Yeah, because it's needed to specify strategies to use and the steps to walk to accomplish the goal. I also ordered with numbers each step according to what it's needed or easier to do before.
I read that it also necessary to time them but I find it more difficult l, anyway, I will try to do it.

Well just do your best, and it's ok to make adjustments if you need to as you go.

Do you want to share your goals with us, or is that too personal.

Whenever I've started a new therapy, we always talked about my goals - in therapy and in life.
I've really been struggling with writing them down this time though

Hi! I did that one time, it helped me 'cause I didn't know what path to take and wich thing I should do first.

I'm very bad at organizing so seeing it in paper was easier. Were did I leave that diagram anyway?

I took a notebook and I left a whole page for each of the followings sides in my life: partnership- job- social- and family.
I wrote what is important for me to achieve in each area and in each area the goals to achieve in short and long term. This last, was the most difficult part so in some occassions I limited to put an order of achievement.

I'll put you a real example:
I want to improve my knowledge of English bc it's very important for my job. This is the main goal, being a ****ing good English master.
I wrote all these things that can be useful to reach this dream.

1) Improving my oral comprehension in 6 months (goal)
Strategy to accomplish the first goal.
A) listening and watching programes in English
B) talking to my online friends.
C) going to downtown to assist tourists.

I know what you mean, that's why I did it.
Many times we don't do the important but the urgent and this is a way to distract from our dreams.
