My family isn't really supportive on my mental health, I talk to them about it but they jut act like I never said anything and when I ask about going to therapy or something they tell me to pick one when I need their help to. I have no one I can talk to about it to make me feel better so it gets hard to stay going. I'm starting high school in a few days and I want to try and get some help by then.

Can't you tell them you need their help to find a therapist? Maybe they don't know how either. Your school counselor will be able to help you with that, though.

Sorry that you're feeling so down and alone. I agree with Tauren, the school counsellor will be a good person to discuss this with, especially if your family are unable to support you in this.
I really hope you find the courage to approach them, don't wait too long.
Sending hugs and as much encouragement as I can while you find a way forward.

Hi violet,

Do you have friends who are going to go to the same high school? That can make starting a new thing more fun and less scary. I am sure that lots of people who are about to make a change like that will feel the same as you about it.

If you think you're depressed, talking to your parents or your M.D. is a good idea. There are lots of healthy things you can try on your own too. Here are some notes that helped me:

Exercise, yoga, meditation, improving your diet all pretty reliably improve your mood and it's all super-healthy for you anyway. It's kind of inevitable to feel nervous making a change like going to high school, but once you get over the starting-up nervousness and make a few friends, you might find it exciting to enter a whole new phase of your life.
