(sorry it may be a little bit long, but please bear with me. If you have any question (unclear about....), feel free to ask.

My plan: work part time
Volunteer and learn in a salon
Get a personal trainer, go to gym to build strength and muscles

My plan is to work part time.

And I want to use my spare time to volunteer in a salon, in hope to learn some skills. (so I am better prepare when I return to hair school) [I was in hair school, but it didn’t end up well, they are so fast, I couldn’t catch up, and the teacher wasn’t willing to help. So I left]

And also, as important as the above, I want to get a personal trainer to build some muscles. I can feel my energy was declining as I age. Also, I get tired easily. I want to build some strength and muscles by going to the gym (weight machines, etc). It affect my daily life and of course when going to school and work.

I understand we can’t have everything in our way in life. It’s more about “I can’t think of other method/ solution”, more than personal preference.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ve been looking for a part time job since. I tried applying many places, not necessary, when they are hiring, I go into the store to hand in my cover letter and resume. (There was one that were hiring but I didn’t get the job)
Then was a job fair last week (a supermarket), and I got an offer. It was a little different than what I hope, a different dept., I was hoping to get into the (serving, not making) bakery dept. , but they already hired someone, so they offer me the cooked food dept.., which is most more physical demanding.
I see there are 3 places hiring in the mall. And also there are two other places (not necessary hiring), that I’d like to try walk in with my cover letter.
Now I feel I wasn’t thoughtful enough, I feel I should have tried all those places first before going to the job fair (the job fair will happen next month too). I badly want a part time job, and wasn’t thinking enough (I think).
I should have tried all those hiring/ possible *places. And then if they didn’t work, then I would go to the job fair next month instead. So now I regret it. But of course I don’t want to turn down the offer, coz I didn’t know if those *places would hired me.
Why I am not sure about the cooked food dept., it’s physical demanding, I dunno if after work (or even the day after) I would have any energy left to do other things in my plan (salon and gym)
At the same time I am accusing myself being indecisive and being regretful (I feel I shouldn’t. )
as you say you are so indecisive, maybe it is best to tackle one thing at a time to be more successful at your goals. you have got the job now, which you say is going to be physically demanding, which can meet the exercise challenge a bit maybe? jobs being so difficult to get in this economy, it is best to take what you can get. this does not mean you cannot apply for other jobs you find more preferable and then move on to another if you are offered something you like better. then when you have the job you want, you can move on to phase two and add the gym or volunteer work until you have adjusted and then add the third.
hi Penguinsing
That you have this job offer is real progress. The thing to do is to give it a try. even if it is physically demanding to see if it works out for you. If after a while it seems too much. you could always go back to the job fair and get something else. Once settled in the job you could go as was suggested to volunteering in the salon to get skilled up for going back to the hair school. Take care. I hope and pray all of this will work out well for you. God bless and best wishes from your friend Francis
Good luck, I think you're on the right track, congratulations on the job offer.
You may also want to think about pacing yourself, it is about prioritising what you HAVE to do in a week, planning when to do it and planning rest/recreation. Then you can gradually build up your activity or exercise over time. If your body is tired, there may be a reason that you have to pay attention. That doesn't mean take to your bed! That's a sure way to get weaker, but driving yourself into the ground may not be helpful either.
Have you checked out possible causes for tiredness with your doctor? It could be something simple like anaemia and easily treated.
I wish you all the best as you look for a way forward.
