Am okay i'm on my second type of tablets for depression and anxiety coz the first set didn't work, and i thought I would be better off without meds...turns out i was wrong. I started these new meds about three months ago and i really thought that were working great, didn't feel down that often was able to function at a normal enough rate with college work, and other every day things, but over the past week Ive been starting to feel ****** again, and its almost constant, and when its not completely taking over me i can still feel it in the back of my mind and no matter what i do to try push the feelings out they just won't go. Am I think i now the reason for it but I'm not sure if it makes sense, a few weeks ago they change the level of my thyroid tablets, and they first they i was on the new set i felt a bit off but i just thought that was normal, and its just a chemical imbalance that will work itself out...and it did for a time. But now i feel worse then ever, its taking a lot not to just ram my head through the wall tbh and other people are starting to notice because I'm zoning out more often then usual, i even look ill, I'm not sleeping great so i look like death warmed up. Does anybody know if it could be the tablets effecting each other badly?

Psych meds often have the problem of "oppositional tolerance." They work for a while, but then poop out, possibly leaving you without much benefit but still unable to quit without crashing. It's like perking yourself up by drinking tons of coffee. If you keep doing that, the coffee will end up having little effect, but, still, if you quit, you will crash. One thing you can do is to try adding the known healthy safe things you can do that are good for depression like diet, exercise, meditation, etc. (see here http://forums.psychcentral.com/4262681-post105.html You've got nothing to lose by adding these, and they might help a lot. ![]() |

Hello Bambam. Maybe your thyroid may be putting everything out of what. You need to get your levels checked every 3 months. There is a strong correlation between depression and under active thyroid. The second thing I would suggest that if the psych meds worked at the start maybe a good idea would be to have them upped. As I always say I am not a doctor but I would suggest going back to your g.p... Best wishes Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It sounds like you need a blood test to check your thyroid levels.
Please tell your psych doc about the change in your thyroid medication and how you've started feeling since then. I hope things get better for you. Last edited by Anonymous200325; Nov 07, 2015 at 11:07 AM. Reason: cat hit "submit" button |
