I usually don't have much problems falling asleep but since I've sunk back to a low level my sleeping has been affected.

It started with broken sleep, keep waking up, and now I just can't even get to sleep at all. When I got in bed Saturday night I watched a film then went to sleep which I've been doing every night for years. I was still awake at 7am this morning. I managed to drop off for a couple of hours but my daughter woke me up.

Tonight is the same. It's 1.40am and I've been in bed since 9.30pm. I watched a film and then my brain woke up and it won't shut off. I've got up and made a warm drink but nothing will give me that nudge into sleep. I know tomorrow I'll be exhausted and that will make me feel worse. I need sleep! Insomnia again

Hello! Sorry you're not sleeping! Sleeping is awesome!
I read someone awhile ago that a common reason for insomnia is actually a guilty conscience! It doesn't mean you did something horrible, but rather something you didn't do that was minor (laundry, dishes, that walk you said you'd go on, etc.). Really think about the LITTLE things that are well within your control to accomplish that you may be neglecting.

Also, dog train, condition, whatever you want to call it to be PRODUCTIVE while not sleeping. Cook. Clean. Study. Exercise. Whatever. As soon as you start being productive you'll "trick" yourself into feeling like you've earned sleep. Also, if you're going to lay awake at night, what's the point of just sitting there like a blob? If you're going to be tired you might as well have a clean house with a tight body to show for it!

I always did this when I went through fits of insomnia and it'd last a month or two then I'd regulate. Not to mention all the stuff I had to show for it!

I finally managed to get to sleep around 4am I think but now I've had to get up for work and I'm sooooo tired! Not really ready to get back to work but at least after a day there I'll probably go straight to sleep tonight

My insomnia started back up too with the racing thoughts and brain that just won't shut off. Got a few hours last night but now I'm up and I've been up for a few hours. Sucks. I'd just suck it up at work tomorrow but all weekend I've been worried about triggering at work and was hoping to at least go in rested and prepared to cope. Good luck Evaluna.
