Hi here is an article that describes side affects of Prozac - I have not used that one.

Psych Central - About Prozac (Fluoxetine)
Here are the side affects
Side effects from fluoxetine are common:

upset stomach
drowsiness
weakness or tiredness
excitement or anxiety
insomnia
nightmares
dry mouth
skin more sensitive to sunlight than usual
changes in appetite or weight

Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

constipation
difficulty urinating
frequent urination
blurred vision
changes in sex drive or ability
excessive sweating

If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:

jaw, neck, and back muscle spasms
slow or difficult speech
shuffling walk
persistent, fine tremor or inability to sit still
fever, chills, sore throat, or flu-like symptoms
difficulty breathing or swallowing
severe skin rash or hives
yellowing of the skin or eyes
irregular heartbeat

Anna, it takes about 4 weeks to get use to a medication for our system. You cannot judge how it is cause the body has to build up a tolerance to the meds. It works different in people. Just write down daily take notes of how it makes you feel, then when you can talk to your dr. about it. They can adjust it based on the side affects that are listed. I hope this helps. Good luck and tc

Thank you for taking the time to supply all that information. It says a lot about you...a lot of good stuff.

Well, tonight I feel a wee bit better. Still thinking my "morbid" thoughts but not as quite as much...panacea perhaps but whatever works, right?

Ty!

Thank you. I had read this before but guess I needed some reassurance.
Tonight not shaking as much. Interesting thing, I only get nervous or shake when I go from a lying position to sitting (worse) and then to standing (the worse). My balance is sometimes all screwy...at one point, I was falling into walls, but the drs didn't seem to understand how falling over like this (without drinking or taking drugs) can make one anxious. God, help the mighty dumb (MD) hoomans .

One neuro thinks I have dysautonomia (one day fine, one day falling into walls) triggered by a virus or reactivation of EB (have very high titers of EB which I had at 20), another said MAV (painless migraine but with the vertigo; the differential on my MRI was "migraine syndrome" and I did have some bad headaches--not classic migraines but very painful--when younger.

Thanks again,

Anna

Clara, as I mentioned in one of my posts, I'm on day three I think and I feel the tiniest bit better.

Btw, Clara was my grandmother's name.

I'll hang in there...

And I like what it says below your name...

"Clara22 wants to listen more and not judge." Something like that. Something quite powerful if we were all to really/really do this. But we're only hooman, so I don't expect much but I do expect more than what we usually give.

Thank you, Clara.

I have been on/off Prozac for so many years, it's not even funny.

But I did want to make sure to tell you that any start-ups I had with Prozac were always a bit uncomfortable (heightened anxiety, insomnia, deeper depression) but that after at least 3-4 weeks, it gets so much better. I hope you find it works for you, just be patient with yourself. Be gentle on yourself when you have your days, and know that Prozac will gear you back in the right direction.

Thanks, Sasha...

I think it's now been about a week I've been on this drug. 20 mg. I think about a week.

Have been noticing more and more that I don't wake up immediately thinking about the possibility...possibility...that we're all going to die with no after-life. That's been especially traumatic for me, a person who always had such a strong belief that life doesn't end with the grave.

I truly have had a spiritual crisis, says the secular nun. It's the worst thing in many ways I've ever lived through, and I have always gone forward--after the death of my mother in a car crash; I obviously lived...the drowning of my father...the tragic death of my brother--with faith. With such strong belief, a belief corroborated by some of strangest/miracle-like life happenings.

Please pray for me that I will get my faith back. I'll take Prozac if it works...I would eat dog dung...with gusto...if it worked. I'll pray for you.

Thank you,

Anna
