I've cried at work today. luckily i could close my office's door and nobody saw me doing it but it was embarassing anyway. it feels like going crazy. to me crying means losing control and therefore going crazy. i hate crying but when i do i usually feel better afterwords. and it seems like crying and staying in bed would be the only thing i would want to do all day every day. im so sick and tired of this endless pain.
My DBT T says that slowly changing myself (way of thinking and feeling) will help change my life but i doubt it. what do you think? will it work for real? |

Can you talk to someone at work? Your manager? Human Resources?
Maybe you can take some time off if you are really struggling. Take care ![]() |

No, theres nothing like that where i work, but my boss knows about my struggles and is quite tolerant. I just wish i didnt feel like crying every day and at work too!

Thanks, i just dont think i can go on working there because it triggers me too much. Both with my negative thoughts and memories of when i used to cut and drink and now i cant do them anymore so i cry. It is crying out of anger i guess...

Like you said, "crying in anger," that's one interpretation, and if that's a useful interpretation go with it. I'm in a job where I had to use distress tolerance skills (DBT) continually. But after I moved from fear to anger I was in a better position to make a choice in my better interest. For me that means taking a medical leave from my job and to focus on my physical and mental health.
The point I'm getting at side-wise is, choosing a healthier path takes what it takes, tears, tantrums, and other indications that something is not right, until the time comes, and making the change seems inevitable, but would not have been possible without the hard work in between. I hope you are feeling better, but I also hope that you can sort out your feelings and thoughts. ![]() |
