This past week has just been pretty terrible and I seem to be getting worse by the day. The mornings are particularly hard. I have to get up at 6am to get ready for work although the for the first 40 minutes I just lie in bed trying to put off the inevitable. When I wake up I feel completely exhausted and physically unwell like headaches, upset stomach etc.
I've just started this new job and haven't even been there two weeks and already I don't know how much longer I can keep it up. It is a good job and a need the money so I guess I need to just try and stick it out. I feel as though I'm not working as efficiently as I could be because I am just so exhausted and I hate that. I'm not sleeping well and wake up at around 3-4am every morning and by the time I fall back asleep it is time to get up again. I'm taking antidepressants but clearly they're not working so I probably need to change to something else but I just can't be bothered to taper off this one and try's new one that probably won't help either. I don't want to die but I don't know how much more of this I can take. |

Sorry to hear this. I am having trouble with mornings - I think spring may help.

I actually live in the Southern Hemisphere so it is summer where I am. For me this isn't a weather related thing

I hate mornings too. When things are going well, waking up is still hard but I usually feel fine after having a cup of coffee or two. But when I'm feeling depressed or stressed out I often wake up feeling like I got only 3 hours of sleep (even if I actually slept for 8-9 hours) and then continue to feel tired for several hours afterward.

It sounds to me as though you are dreading going to work. Is there something about that particular job that you don't like? How are you on the weekends?

Wow. It's almost as if I wrote that myself a year ago. I would wake up in the mornings feeling miserable, experience extreme anxiety, and then just end up staying home from school. Sometimes it was my digestive problems truly acting up, but other times it was just my anxiety. I know better than to avoid it now though. It actually makes everything worse to do that. Have you tried therapy? For me antidepressants only do 50%-75% of the job depending on many factors at any given time that I am taking them. |
