I have been oversleeping again. But at least I'm not drinking.
There is just so much pain right now. too much death and sorrow. lost a cousin to cancer last week, now my uncle on dad's side is having quintuple bypass surgery. I'm tired of the pain and I don't know how to deal with it all. I'm afraid if I start crying, I won't stop. I just want to isolate and sleep the days and nights away.

Well done not drinking, that's a huge achievement.

Why not cry, if that's what you feel like, cry until you fall asleep because there are no tears left. It will be some release of the pressure.
Can that be worse than feeling so bad and not allowing yourself to cry so it sticks inside?

Just thoughts, no judgement. I yearn for you to have some release. you try so hard.

And you give so much to people here.
Thanks for this!

i guess i'm afraid to start crying for fear of losing the little bit of control I feel that I have left. It just all hurts so much. I feel both numb and raw at the same time. How is that possible?

It so is possible! I relate to that description it's just perfect.

What is the worst that will happen if you lose that control? Isn't it less harmful than the bottle?
No one can cry for ever, you always run out of tears, then I get that sort of quiet aching tiredness which can lead to the peace of a good sleep.

You still have control over other things even if you cry, when you really cry, it's hard to do some other things you're trying to stay in control of. At least it can be for me.

Whatever you choose, I hope you find a seed of peace somewhere.
