I applied for a new job and got through two rounds of interviews, but was told yesterday that they hired someone else. I tried to keep my expectations in check, but it is difficult not to get hopeful when they seem to like you. Now it's the day after and I am struggling to keep my old friend depression from taking over. I was hoping this job would be my ticket out of my misery but it is not to be. I am trying to stay as positive as possible but the future looks pretty bleak.

The future will be bright if you let it. Get a book like Chicken Soup for the Soul. It will help.

Basic, i understand despair. I understand heartache, i understand disappointment. Yet i want you to take a moment, close your eyes, and breathe in slowly and open them and look around you. You are in the present moment okay, and for today you are okay and tomorrow will be another day that you will be okay as you live in each moment. Just be grateful for what you have now, a roof, a bed, meals, food. You have enough for today, and that will help you not drown in fear, negativity, depression, dispair because you are alive in this moment for today! And trust that good things will come to you and be grateful for them and learn to enjoy the journey of life , tc
