Does any other woman have the suspicion that their depressive episodes ironically arrive around your time of the month?
I cannot tell if mine do or not, but I'm working on seeing if it's a consistent occurrence every month. If so, I'd like to try changing birth control pills to maybe help it..? |

I can tell you that my period exacerbated my depressive episodes. The hormones made everything worse until I started on antidepressants.

Unless I'm in a major depressive episode, I get a lesser depression every month, the week before my period. It's called PMDD - premenstrual dysphoric disorder.
I've heard some types of BC can help, but I don't know which ones. When I wanted to try that I went to my family doc, but he didn't know anything about it. I've also heard the antidepressants help, and you can possibly take them only when you're depressed, not constantly. My advice, if you're interested, would be to keep tracking any patterns you see. And when you go in about meds, go to a doc who knows MI. They should be able to point you in the right direction. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using Tapatalk |

Yes. It's usually when I'm ovulating though - so it's monthly and I'm hysterical. It took me a long time to figure out to keep an eye out for that.

Ugh. Hormones.
How sad that depression has so many ties to something else and that it takes (some of us--and I mean me) a very very long time to make the connection... I hope this is your chance to get out. hugs. |
