I need to make a dentist appointment. Not only can I not bring myself to GO to the dentist, but I don't even have it in me to make the freaking appointment. I have a tooth that needs seeing to. I wonder how bad it will get before I call. It's like I can predict my behavior...

Same with the doctor. I should have gone today to get refills. Nope. Can't bring myself to do it.

I am a mess.

I have Doc problems myself. I wait till it's desperate. sometimes when i'm afraid to call and i really need to, i write down everything i want to say before i call and just read off the paper. once i have the appointment it's easier.

I am deathly afraid of the dentist. I disassociate myself from my surroundings and go. While I am there I try not to think about it. Last visit with a new dentist, I could barely stay in the chair. The dentist offered me a rx of valium and he looked shocked when I told him I took a benzo before the appointment. I look and act every inch of my MH diagnosis while at the dentist.

I don't have quite as much fear with my primary doc and pdoc with the exception of walking the fine line of telling him enough so I might get some help but not so much that they toss me in the mental ward.

DID IT!!!

Well, one of them. I have made the appointments for 2 others.

I would like to say that writing out the question and reading the responses made me somewhat accountable.

Thank you all...
