Went from 20mg Prozac to 40mg 3 days ago. When will I feel a difference? What to expect?

Most psych drugs take a few weeks to build up in your system before any effect might be noticed.

It is impossible to tell you what to expect. The big thing is to note side-effects if any. The maddening thing with psych drugs is that everyone reacts differently and what works for one person might not work for another. Same with side-effects.

If you get side-effects that can be dangerous or just make you worry, report them to your doctor as soon as you can.

I find reading wikipedia or a medical site about the drug helps me know the upsides and downsides.

Sometimes the side-effects lists of psych drugs can be frightening, but most are very rare, and I feel more education is always better than less.

Hi, sorry I missed this before.

Most antidepressants take between 2 and 4 weeks to show a benefit from an increase in dose, my Pdoc says they can take six weeks or so so unfortunately you need to wait quite some time to be sure there's no benefit. However, I have found I have sometimes noticed a little benefit after a couple of weeks.

I know that sounds like forever, but the time does pass and you will get there.

I hope you notice a benefit soon.

Best of luck.
