Friends, tomorrow is my birthday (the big 4-0) and I don't feel much like celebrating. As usual all my friends are working or have other things going on, and I can't help but feel like no one cares. I have tomorrow off and I feel like if I just stay here and watch movies I'm going to go stir crazy. At the same time I feel like the other idea I had, to take a day trip to a city and do some shopping and treat myself to a few gifts is wasteful because I already have so much stuff, and so many books I haven't read yet. I feel like I should just stay here and maybe try to be half-responsible and read one of the self-help books I got about figuring out what I want to do with my life because I sure ain't getting any younger. What do you think?

Hello Max Payne: The Skeezyks doesn't have birthdays anymore... haven't had in a long time... don't recognize them... don't acknowledge them... don't celebrate them... "That day" is just another day for me... But, hey! Not everyone feels that way. In fact, most people don't! So I'd say... have a ball! After all, it only comes around once a year... happy birthday!

Birthdays that end in 0 are the hardest. It's not just another year gone by, it's a whole decade. Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have a good day.

Hi
I do not know if this works for you but once for my birthday I went to spend the day at a place where people needed help, and I did stuff for them and it was much better than another birthday when I went out by myself. I did it once in Christmas Eve, as well.

Oh, I did not know about this episode of the Twilight Zone, and I learnt about it because of your post, in what way is it related to your feelings/situation? Please, you do not need to answer if you don't like. Thank you for posting, anyway

Just feel like there's never enough time for anything, and even when there is, there isn't.

Yeah, I feel the opposite, that's why I was asking. I feel I have time and I am not using it in a way is fruitful. I do not even feel good. I suffer. I would suffer with less regret if my suffering had a purpose. But I am trapped in a situation and I do not know how to get out of it

Hey! Happy birthday, first of all. What you are saying resonates with me. I'm 28 and feel like all my friends are too busy. In order to do anything involving a bunch of people I usually have to plan something a month in advance. As far as either staying inside and watching movies vs. going out and doing something, either is a good choice! Hope you had a good one...

Happy Birthday!

How about celebrating with friends on a day you can all get together. (I don't think I've celebrated my birthday on it's exact day since I was a kid because everyone has scheduling issues.)
