Has anyone here taken zoloft and if so, what is your opinion of it? My doctor just prescribed it and I read the info that came with the prescription and it scares me. In rare cases it can cause something called "seratonin syndrome" and can be fatal. I am VERY sensitive to meds and whenever there is a list of side effects - I am the person who gets them all. I just want to hear from others who have taken zoloft. What it helpful? did you have side effects?

Hey meinct:
I started off with Zoloft a few years ago. It didn't really help me, but everybody is different. Remember no two people are alike in that category. Anyway, it gave me awful headaches. Ibuprofine wouldn't make it stay away. I had to get off of it after that. The seratonin thing is rare, not too common, but like every medication for us, it depends on your system. Do not abuse it. You'll be fine. If it gives you headaches, try Ibuprofine, or Tylenol. If they don't go away, then you may have to switch.

I WAS GIVEN ZOLOFT YEARS AGO. I ENDED UP HAVING CONVULSIONS (sp). HE TOLD ME TO TAKE HALF AND I SAID NO. I WILL NEVER TOUCH THAT AGAIN. I KNOW OF MANY PEOPLE WHO TRIED TO TAKE IT AND THEY COULDNT BECAUSE OF SIDE EFFECTS. I KNOW ONE PERSON ON IT AND IT HELPS HER.
