I have hurt a friend. Not just a friend, but my best friend. A friend that listens, a friend that has always been there for me, a friend that is interested by what interests me. And then, how do I return the favor? Exactly, by not being there for that person. I will never forgive myself for the pain that I have caused. I was needed, I was reached out, and then I let go, did nothing.

I always hurt people, I never return favors, I never appreciate anyone. I don't know why I was born, everyone in this universe will be better off without me, I don't deserve to be alive. I deserve to die in the most painful and torturous way

The best way to apologize for what you have done (which you have not specified) is to be there for that person. And if it is too late to do that, vow to yourself that you will be there for the next person who comes into your life. Remember that you are human and we all make mistakes. You don't deserve to die, but you, like everyone else, deserve to learn from your mistakes and become a better person from it.

RenouncedTroglodyte,
I totally agree with SvanThor and truly hope you have an opportunity to express to your friend what you have expressed in your post!
