I suffer from anxiety on and off but lately i feel like once in a while a random thought comes in my mind about "what if something awful happens to me" and all of a sudden it gives me the sinking feeling in my stomach i feel hopeless it feels like some one just give you the worst news about your like e.g it feels like a dr just told you that you had some horrible diseases and it makes you feel like your life is over you have nothing to look forward.

Does any one else feels like that it just makes me very depress usually goes away on it own. Is it anxiety or depression

Hello constig: Yes, I think everyone has the experience you describe at least occasionally. Perhaps some have it more than others. What you are experiencing could be a sign of some anxiety or depression. But so long as it goes away on its own, I don't personally think it's anything to be particularly concerned about. Worrying about it is probably more unhealthy than the experience itself, in my opinion.

I see this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

Thank you for all your support and response i have had anxiety on and for several years but this is first time i experience those feeling they just happens randomly once or twice a month at first i did not think about it too much but last few times it happened i think i am overthinking and obsessing over it which is making it more difficult.

It is like one min you are fine and than this thought creeps in about some thing bad will happen to you and makes you feel like your life is over make you feel hopeless stomach starts sinking you get knots in the stomach things that were exciting or enjoyable few mins ago does not matter.

How can one get over those feeling and start feeling normal i try not to think about it too much no matter how hard i try i find my self obsessing over it how it made me feel

I get those feeling quite a lot. I feel like I have "health anxiety". People who know me pretty well would say to me, "oh yes, you do!". There are times that I dread that something bad is going to happen to me with my health. I rarely think about accidents or disasters. But I do think a lot about having a terminal illness. When I feel some kind of pain, soreness, or see something weird on my skin - I go to pieces.

There are occasions that I have "hospital fantasies" and it's not good. Also I can feel like I'm living in a moment of being with a doctor; and being told that I'm not doing well.

When I feel good emotionally, those thoughts are furthest from my mind. It's just when I feel anxious that it happens. I feel that I suffer more from anxiety. The depression can follow.

It's just that those thoughts randomly come on. The best way I can describe the feeling is like a trembling feeling. It feels like flying a small plane through a storm cell. Or driving down a rough road that's out in the middle of nowhere. The time I get those feelings the most is just before lunch time. I don't know why that is.

Also what triggers it is if I read something about a health issue. When I see an article like that, I think that I might have that serious issue of what I'm reading about. And then those bad feelings happen.
