In the FWIW category:

According to ClinicalTrials.gov (administered by the National Institutes of Mental Health) a company called Janssen Research & Development, LLC is conducting clinical trials at dozens (if not scores) of locations in the U.S., and many abroad. Worth a look for those of us who haven't responded to currently available meds, CBT, and so forth; private studies on ketamine have so far yielded generally positive results.

The search results listed below are for esketamine, which evidently is an intranasal (as opposed to intravaneous) method of administering ketamine. The advantage of that, should the results pan out, is that it could be administered by the patient, as opposed to requiring office visits.

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/resul...&lup_s=&lup_e=

If you change the search term to "ketamine" it will return a list of a 100+ trials from all over the country, many of which are not related to depression but to other disorders. Still interesting reading if you've a couple hours to kill.

Hi...
I was interested in doing this a while ago, but honestly couldn't bring myself to...I got as far as the questions and information I had to give to qualify and I did. This was for IV Ketamine.

From what I understand it would be less therapeutic and more intervention...like if you have to go to the ER in order to feel safe. At least that's what the trials are about.

There are Ketamine "providers" across the US, however it would be out of pocket at this point, I believe, and it's quite pricey.

The whole thing sounds very promising though...

Thanks for the information! I have some hope for the ketamine/esketamine. From what I read, the trials to date yield mixed results, but enough positive response to warrant more study. Sedation/disorientation might be a problem for some. I'm not ready to try this, since I really struggle with fatigue already. But at some point, with enough information and convincing positive results, it might be worth a second look and a try. I like that research is trying to find different approaches with the brain chemistry. So many of us need help from new directions.

I did the ketamine infusions and no change. I was really hopeful. I think I have gotten more depressed knowing this method is closed to me.
