I went out tonight with some friends, but the whole thing ended up triggering me. Started with triggers tbh. How am I meant to cope with day to day triggers?

Honestly right now I want to be drunk (I'm getting there) and I know that I will end up self harming. But how am I meant to cope in these situations? I don't think i can.

I have spent much of the last few years suicidal. And while I'm not suicidal right now I know that it won't take much to get me to that.

I just don't know how to deal with life in a healthy way...

Things work differently for everyone. I have to be really mindful, doesn't matter where I am. I have to use a lot of grounding techniques and such.
I'm sorry that you're dealing with this.
Thanks for this!

I have heard that facing your triggers is actually the most helpful way to become desensitized to them.

It would be helpful if the "services" had the ability to model or teach healthy "coping" skills, but as this is often not the case in the uk... ... I agree with the above. Good luck

(Btw is it only me who thinks that even the replies in this thread are much more helpful than what the "services" offer )
(How many people from the uk post how they are unable to "cope" and yet they are offered squat of value
"They" only "care" in a "crisis" ... And even then the "care" is often questionable. Just MHO)

Apologies for the rant

No, it's not just you who thinks that mental health care here is just a joke
