It's just one of those nights. I can't sleep because I can't find the off switch to my brain, or even a mute button. It is on overdrive tonight. Every time I close my eyes and try to sleep it just gets 10x worse. So it's gone 3:30am and here I am on PC. Both tired and wide awake.
Who needs sleep anyway...? |

Apparently neither of us my friend ,it's 2:50 am and laid in bed for several hours in the recovery position waiting for the seizure but it's a hang fire took my night meds at 12:30 and that was 45 mg of Temazepam which should have gotten rid of the about to have a seizure aura ( my service dog comes and sits by me when he senses one pending so the feeling is verified by him being right next to the bed and he keeps poking me with the cold wet nose) but so far nothing , normally he snores and sounds like he is blowing bubbles he is an awesome dog but that snoring makes me wonder if I should get him a cpap, or maybe his sleep disordered dad is just jealous and wish I slept like that , and why am I on the net reading your thread when I know these LEDS are jacking with our brains, then again I have a very warm setting which affects the brain less ,the one I am on I have to set by hand my other one does it automatically at 5 pm , its snowing out and the temp is hovering around 33, winter makes my pain worse , thank god for Nest and Alexa I just tell her what temp I want and she does it , when I first got out of college I did full care of a quad and he would love this ability , we looked into environmental control for his house but it would have been like $800,000 with install and he didn't want the six months of construction, now voice activated environmental control is dirt cheap with no construction , I did everything all lights heat and air , coffee pot for under $1000 have not done the blinds yet,but I am going to do them too, anyway I'm gonna try and lay down again. You should do the same, wishing us both luck.

I finally got to sleep at about 6, my head was still on overdrive and the thoughts just turned into a dream instead, as always. Awake again an hour and a half later. Why sleep when even then you can't escape the darkness in your mind?

Thanks Misterpain....I have had insomnia for years. I take Ambien, but sometimes it doesn't work.
The dead of the night is a terrible time to be alone with your own thoughts and emotions...It's like: 'You have depression? Here's some punishment for that"... |

I just finally got sleep after being awake for around 35 hours. It was a rough sleep, but it was sleep, I guess. The only thing that helped me sleep in the end was my eye twitching so bad that it screwed with my eye sight and gave me a headache. I laid down to try and help with the headache and had a very restless sleep that followed. Now I'm wishing I had stayed awake.
Hopefully you can get some, too. And I hope it's better than mine ![]()

I don't know if anyone has tried AdvilPM? Or generic.
I know what's in it but together they seem to work better than the individual components. Ambien...I ended up taking 2 at intervals. Still a restless sleep. I know I'll run out and they won't refill it for me ![]() I'm sorry about the marathon, So...it sucks. I was in the hospital once and they were giving me morphine for pain (sorry to discuss drugs with such enthusiasm, but people here know....) Anyway, the delicious feeling of DROWSINESS was something I won't forget. I think that's a big difference between insomnia and plain sleeplessness. We don't get drowsy and mellow. I know I can't relax or shut off the brain...it's not even productive shyte.... |

I use Fentanyl patches and Oxcycodone for breakthrough pain and despite Fentanyl being almost 100 times stronger than morphine ! My doctor calls me the "man of steel" because I am never drowsy, even when he gave me 250 mg of sodium Amytal nothing I juggled and did card tricks all night, I have a almost complete inversion of alpha and delta waves combined with rare sighted non twenty four, he tells me I have "shattered" the longest continous hours awake, the record used be just over 241 hours before the person coded and resuscitation failed, when I started seeing him he said everybody through his door has read the book on sleep disorders however it's a privledge to be treating one of the Co authors , although we only have 2 in person visits a year because the trip to get to him is very long and hard on me , we do "telemedicine" all the time, I am fortunate with my specialists because the local doctors suck ,but 12 hours on a bus to get to them makes them a little "crazy" because they wish my life was easier with a decent local doctor but that's not in the cards and they know it takes me a week in bed after each trip to just rest and regain what little strength I have, they worry I am going to die in transit just to get decent care, I say it's worth the risk, they are skeptical and really wish the locals would not drop the ball every chance they get, it bothers them that they don't even get called as members of my medical team when things happen to me,it takes me surviving something to have me notify them what happened, we often talk about if this is "first world care" what would "third world care" be ?? The only locals who have not been fired by me are my urologist and colon rectal docs they started my "medical mystery tour" with me and have never given me reason to fire them. Sorry this became somewhat ranting but as I started writing this once again one of the locals is dropping the ball and I had to get busy chewing someone out and doing damage control, such is life I refuse to let it drag me down , this is hard now, imagine if I developed a bad attitude , maybe I should change my screen name to "too stupid to die" will have people calling me "too" or "die" , I have heard some weird names but neither of those is viable.

We need a "Middle of the Night" section of the forum just for us...(I don't do chat)
We could not feel so very alone...Say "hi"....share things that we're doing to occupy us...disclose that we just ate an entire package of Oreos... |
