I've been moving for 25yrs to find flat with peace+quiet;
thought had found it in one I'm in now,but downstairs
neighbour has started to bang his door,and landlord says
it's his right,its a 'living noise'. I am devastated and in deep
depression at thought of moving AGAIN . . . .God help
me! And the sleep-deprivation is killing me.

No place is quiet anymore, I'm afraid... well maybe if someone lives way out in the middle of nowhere. There's no such thing as quiet where I live.
Thanks for this!

Have you tried sleeping with ear plugs in your ears?

I can so relate. So so so much. I understand exactly what you're going through. So few people get it, just what this is. I had to move so many times as well, and every little thing can set me off. I have no way of turning this sensitivity down, unless I drown it out with music or earplugs.

I've lived in places no one else would venture to because my need for quiet. Then I figured everything was karmic revenge due to me because wherever I did go, something would surface that would trigger me to no end. And then I would resort to self-medication. Today was one of those days. Off the charts horrific.

What can I wish you? Peace? Better times? Whatever you need, let it be yours.

I have had a lot of bad luck with loud neighbors so I can relate... Last place I lived I had to run a loud fan at night to drown out the noise, and that helped me sleep. Sorry you're having to deal with that

I am such a quiet neighbor, but I seldom have had the luck of having quiet neighbors. People sure seem to slam doors a lot. I don't understand why a door cannot be closed quietly, rather than slammed.
