Crushed feelings

I did something very stupid a few days ago, I tried POF again. I went on to check my mail and got my first message. It was from some woman and said, "You are the most hideous looking man I've ever seen. You men that call yourself veterans and soldiers should really call yourself paid killers."

This is the second time that something like this has happened in my two attempts at POF. I guess looks matter most of all to a lot of people. I know things people say shouldn't get to you, but I have been hearing things like that my whole life. It started with my abusive sperm donor (ugh father), went through grade school and high school and now continues to my adult life. I can't help but wonder what is wrong with me.

POF has some nasty people on it, I'm sorry that happened to you.

I appreciate it Bad. I'm staying off of it and if I stay single, so be it. I'm getting to the age that I really don't know if I care anymore.

It was probably a troll. A man posing as a woman possibly just to spend time writing nasty comments. Don't take it seriously.

I went on POF briefly quite a few years ago. It was a bad experience for me. I quit it and then I felt better.

That person was an asshole. THEY have a problem. There are tons of nasty people on POF who live to make others miserable

I've heard it my whole life so I'm used to it. I'd rather be lonely than deal with this stuff. It is becoming very clear that the old adage "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything" doesn't apply to people like that anymore. So, I'll just stick to myself and post on here. All of you who posted are nice people.

POF is not the best dating website...there are a lot of nasty and mean people out there...

I got judged on there before..there was a guy that wouldn't even give me a chance bc I had a tattoo.

And the guys I met on there just want booty...probably most girls on there too!

I've got ten tattoos myself Sesiley. Personally, I don't mind a lady with ink. As far as most guys go, yep they're looking for the one nighter....but this man just wants to be l--ed and accepted for once.

Thanks Mickey, Fuzzy, Sesiley, and everyone else who commented. The looks thing bugged me, but the comment about vets and soldiers upset me most. I served my country honorably in and out of combat. I see the reasons I served being destroyed.....freedom, respect, dignity, self-sacrifice, and love for our home are fading and it breaks my heart.
