I have got so much anger and guilt inside. I'm desperately searching for solutions on how to just "let it go".

Hello Avalonia708: I hate to be stating the obvious here.

Hi Avalonia708. Yes many of us struggle with guilt. If only...I I hadn't...if I had...I should have...I shouldn't have. You know how hard it is to stop beating yourself up.
Skeezyks is right (again!) in that many people address this in therapy. Is that an option for you? Sometimes it takes a while to find the right therapist but it's worth it. Other suggestions that I've tried or others have suggested to me: Mindfulness meditation (you don't have to be any particular faith to practice this) Emotional Freedom Technique (also known as tapping. I thought it was a little silly at first but the one I found on stilling the critical voice inside was actually helpful Telling yourself what you'd say if a dear friend of yours confessed doing the same thing you are beating yourself up for and then saying those same kind and compassionate things to yourself. You deserve the same compassion and forgiveness I invite others to add their comments and suggestions as well. It surely isn't easy to let go of the guilt, but torturing yourself helps no one. Sending thoughts of peace your way |

As we know guilt is the price we pay when our behavior violates one of our learned ideas or beliefs. There's no reason to feel perpetually guilty for making a sincere mistake. To make mistake is to be human. Mistakes are part of life - everyone makes them.
