I have been through 13 sessions now. 10 uni and 3 bi. The last one they introduced ketamine to try to smooth my awakening process out.
OMG, that was the most horrifying feeling I have ever had. I felt like I was inside pure evil. Words cant describe the hopelessness I felt, and i am already feeling hopeless as this was the last thing for me to try after many failed AD trials and 33 TMS sessions that did nothing to make my severe depression budge. I am horrified to continue ECT after the last one. Why on Earth wont i respond to anything!

I have heard some bad reports about ketamine. Did you tell your doctor how you felt from it? Maybe they can do the ECT, but without ketamine?

Ketamine is known for its hellacious side effects (horrible hallucinations, disassociation, deep feelings of dread) immediately after it's been injected, but it can also raise depression for days/weeks and sometimes even months after a significant infusion. I think that's what led to your last horrible experience, not the ECT. Please do speak to your doctor about ect but NOT having ketamine again.
The other thing I would say is that my daughter's depression did not truly lift until after her ect and the right meds and weekly sessions with an experienced therapist, and a nutrition/vitamin and excersize program. Sometimes it takes a lot of pieces to finish the puzzle. Please don't give up yet.
Sending you healing thoughts

I had seven rounds of ect. No idea if it was bi or uni. But it didnt solve my problem it just lifted my morning blues a good bit and helped my concentration. So if did cure some things but not it all . You will have to ask for a different course with meds i think

22 rounds of ect. Never worked at all. Left me with poor memory & lost time.
I will never do it again. Just my experience
