It's happening again. It's that time of year. I am finding myself repeatedly triggered to recall memories of my once fabulous life. each spring the Facebook' memories roll out picture after picture of me adventuring. Back country camping, hiking, climbing, kayaking, and even those of my dog. None of these things I have any more in my life. I doubt I ever will. And for some reason everyone seem to be driving a JEEP. They seem all over the road, again triggering memories.

This all adds up to depression. I am grieving yet again the loss of my former life.

I am pulling out all the stops to stay positive. I thought it was working for a while today but I got triggered yet again.

This happens every freaking year.

Would it be worth turning off the notifications for facebook memories? Even deleting the photos from facebook. I ended up having to delete a whole load of photos when they kept popping up on memories and upsetting me. If it happens every year it would be good to try and prevent it if you know the cause

Does it help to remember that this happens every year, so it'll eventually pass?

I think Facebook can actually make me feel worse, because I'm seeing photos of everyone having fun and supposedly being happy and here I am, feeling like ****.

I agree with the above....maybe pull the plug on social media.
Go for a walk...get a coffee etc.
If you know it's coming you can brace yourself for it & hopefully keep one step ahead of it.
Good luck!
