we need to talk more here about omega3 for depression...
I think this natural supplement is going to be very important for mental health.
most people don't have enough in there system...it is anti-inflammatory

I take it along with vitamin D in addition to my meds. I can't confirm that it helps, but I feel like it does.

Sorry I forgot to respond. I take 1,200mg per day right now. Omega 3,6,9. I can triple that dose if needed, but right now I'm stable.

My Pdoc in Calif was into alternative treatments for MI. He had done trials & research & studied research already done.

Because I had such serious side effects to EVERY med that was tried, he said that the research on Omega 3 showed a significant help for depression. HOWEVER....

Its the OMEGA 3 EPA, not the DHA that works on depression. & a person needs to take 1800 mg of the EPA omega 3 per day for it to be effective.

Ok....I did try it & it did have a very positive effect on how I was feeling. The brand I bought was liquid fish oil & it also had DHA at a lower level also in the product. The DHA had an amazing effect on my memory. I would talk before using it & be unable to come up with the word I was needing for my sentence....also helped with my overall body health while the EPA significantly lowered my feeling of depression.

There is one other consideration....if your depression IS SITUATIONAL, just taking meds & doing nothing to resolve the situation will not give you the beneficial feeling you are searching for either....when you put both together for a situational depression, amazing changes do occur.
