The devil was outside my window again,
Scratching at the glass to remind me he was there He reminded me of my trespasses and pain He made me forget all of the people who love and care I rose from my bed and sat at my desk I pulled a piece of paper and clicked my pen I wrote a letter, pleading to leave me at rest I signed my signature it hopes it would mend The devil looked over these lines and agreed It was enough and that it was time to leave Fighting him, my thoughts took over to impede Upon his judgement and goal in which the night would achieve I rested my head in my hands in desperation A choice was mine to be made and act upon Tonight was meant to be my coronation From the suffering, based on my final consideration The devil and his holy rival fought for my hand In a rage I shouted through the white halls No matter what I choose or where I stand I'll go when the man in black calls He calls to me now and has for some time I keep denying his beckoning I may have lost my soul but not my friends They're all I have before the reckoning The wars inside these brick walls continue Fighting for my defeat and surrender Wanting my morals and virtue Until they finally take me away forever

The devil doesn't have your soul - even if he may want it. If he did, you would not bother to fight his beckoning nor his desires for you. You are right though, you do have your friends...but even they aren't all you have. You have your fiance. You have your strength and perseverance. You have your counselor. And given the sound of the subject matter of this poem, I feel safe in including - you have the love of the Lord.
I hope you will accept whatever help your counselor feels you do or do not need rather than fighting against it so perhaps by opening yourself up enough you can receive and benefit from the help you are given. You deserve every second of happiness you can get. I wish it was every second you were on this earth, but sadly I know that will not be the case, simply because nobody ever gets to be happy all the time. Please be good to yourself. I care about you even if we rarely talk anymore. I think of you often. ♥
