Has anyone gone from 100mg to 50mg? I have been taking it for ten years!!! I did it for 4 days and now I think I have to take a 100mg pill tonight. Im not really feeling the brain zaps yet. just a little weird. almost like I almost have a fever, not sure.

I withdrew from zoloft years prior and it was awful! I said I would never take again! But I did! I took almost a year to withdraw also and symptoms lasted for months after!!!!

I have no one to support me really. I can't tell anyone. I am scared but I think this needs to be done. I have wasted ten years of my life. I think it makes you numb to everything and you put up with things you shouldn't and make bad decisions. I am worried about the anger coming back. I don't really care about crying.

Any advice from going 100 to 50? do you skip any days completley? and if you start feeling weird do you up dose for a day??? Help!! lol

I'm not qualified to answer this. Are you doing it under supervision from a pdoc?

nope! Doctors are no help! they will have me withdraw in like a month. no way!! this takes much longer! or they will tell me to take something else or up my dose!
The only way to do this is by yourself!

I personally took Zoloft only for a few months. But while switching medications I would take 100 one night and the 50 the next and do that for about a week. After that I tried just 50 and had no withdrawal issues. I'm still a young teen so it may be different depending on the age and person in general. Hope this helps!

I've taken L-tryptophan for its own sake (it's a serotonin precursor), but never for SSRI withdrawal. I have friends who have taken it for SSRI withdrawal to good effect.

I would start out by buying a good pill splitter if you don't have one already. You should be able to split the 100 mg into fourths, right? Then I would try a week of alternating 100, 75, 100, 75...then a week of all 75...and so forth. This is what I've done successfully with Effexor.

Good luck! Keep us posted.
Thanks for this!

I'm new but empathize with Zoloft withdraw. I'm 8 days off Zoloft after taking x 24 years. I did 175mgx3 weeks, 150x 3 weeks,125x3 weeks 100x3 etc... until just taking a sliver x 2 weeks. I have experienced brain saps with eye movements, frequent uncontrollable crying, rebound depression and periodic panic attacks. I'm just now starting to feel a little better but still tearful and irritable. So hard! Miserable and often feeling hopeless but I'm getting over the jump. How r u now?

Today my head feels a little off? congested and my ears feel weird. Last night I took 50 mg and the day before nothing. I think I will continue to take 50mg all week. I was on 100 mg but for more than a year I have been taking the very end off of the pill so I assume I have been taking about 80mg. oh, and the dreams! I should start a dream journal because when I wake up I remember all the details of the dream! So far they have not been nightmares which is good! I also feel like when I wake up I don't know what day it is??? I withdrew before and know it was bad! I don't remember all the details but said I would never take again! I am pretty sure it lasted for months after completely stopping too. Do you think it is helping you with motivation or feeling more alive? there are things I have wasted over these years and things I wanted to do. I think I put them off on sertraline because I didn't care and was always tired. I hope I can finish things that I have wanted to for years now!

I have been extremely tired the past few days. I just want to stay laying down. I think that is also a symptom. I am still taking half a pill though. I think I felt better when I didnt take a pill at all but would notice my head being more messed up when I did that.

taking half a dose, I am god awful tired, moody, and keep eating!
