I've been on Wellbutrin xl 150 for 2 weeks, it's helped with sleep but I feel sort of numb, which is better than crying all the time but now my Dr wants me to go to 300mg because it hasn't really improved my mood a whole lot. I'm scared to up it though, I have a stressful job and I don't want to lose my temper or randomly start crying any more than has happened before. Advice? Experiences??

If I do up it & it affects me badly can I lower it back to 150mg?

I take 450mg of Wellbutrin and have had success with it for my depression without any side effects and I was still plenty emotional. I'm sorry you're experiencing numbness. Yes, if you go up to 300 mg and can't tolerate it, it's relatively easy to go back down to 150. Good luck and best wishes.
Thanks for this!

I was taking 300mg of Wellbutrin for almost a year. I thought it was awful. I was numb and literally didn't care about anything. Talk to your doctor about your concerns.

I talked to my doctor and she insisted I try the 300mg. So far I went from sleeping like a baby for the first time in 2-3years to back to the same old horrible 2-3 hours of sleep I was at before. I don't feel tired surprisingly enough. I don't feel depressed, but like you mentioned, I am just sort of numb.

For me, numb is both calming and scary. I am the type of person who thinks (overthinks) everything under the sun, and that's sort of stopped, it's odd, I think maybe I just don't know how to react to not being an emotional mess.
