I had a call from my CPN today - came off the phone in bits, couldn't stop crying. I walked out of work nearly 2 hours early and just drove around trying to get myself together before going home and appearing 'normal'.

I think MH services are trying to push me over the edge, they are damn well near succeeding!

I can't deal with these people anymore.

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time with these folks. I hope it clears up soon.
Thanks for this!

This is disturbing.

Feel free to ignore the questions: Insofar as you are able to discern, did the CPN speak out of ignorance, inexperience, lack of concern or possibly hostility? Is it possible the CPN did want to put you off so as to have one less person on their roster?

She went on the defensive when I called her out on a couple of things, and I'm pretty sure, a downright lie.. She is supposed to be quite an experienced CPN so I've been told, but seems a bit too protective / defensive of the MH team she is part of. It certainly doesn't feel as though she is on my side. There is an element of blaming / shaming. I think they are used to dealing with people who are compliant, don't question, don't pull them up on their errors.

Massive (((((hugggggggg))))) for you East...I can't imagine how exasperated you must be, by now, with all you've been going through at their hands.

This may sound ridiculous and over the top, but is there any chance at all you could contact someone over their heads? ...and possibly explain what you've been dealing with these last few weeks? CPN's that are used to dealing with compliant, unquestioning people (and perhaps are a bit into the blame/shame game) might just be about due for a come-uppins from their supervisor, it seems to me.

Are you reluctant to report, because it could cause you problems down the line? And , if that's the case, I would be even more insistent on urging you to report problems with these individuals. Because that would mean, they are too full of themselves, and have lost their whole reason for working in healthcare, in the first place. (ie., they are a danger to people now.)

As for your situation, I would start calling the nearest large city Mental Health offices/hospital, and see about possibly going there for a bit (possibly inpatient? for just ,? a lil bit?, to get meds squared away and have access to docs, etc.?),.. and also from there, discussing the issues you've had in your town.

Maybe I've been watching too much TV, but it seems there should be a system of redress for people in your position.

Like I said before , if I were only there in person...! THIS lil ex-pat American would get you some answers.
Thanks for this!
