what do you mean?

life isn't the type of game where if you mess up you can just start again (if you mess up, that's it!).

life is no virtual reality simulator

maybe you think that because, well... I don't know.

because maybe everyone around you has more than you have, or because you just can't figure out what to do next, or what you want,

and you know what actually makes your statement so real?

"losing at life" is actually a well known and valid phrase

truth is, life is about you, and what you want from it.

you may not have lots of friends, for example, but 1 really good friend who understands you

or, you may not have done so well at school, but have a really awesome job

etc

I actually think I know what you mean, in a literal sense. Like, my dreams are so real and then I wake up and everything feels fake.

Derealization (sometimes abbreviated as DR) is an alteration in the perception or experience of the external world so that it seems unreal. Other symptoms include feeling as though one's environment is lacking in spontaneity, emotional colouring, and depth. It is a dissociative symptom of many conditions.

That's what I've attributed this feeling to, at least. Don't know if it's the same for you.

Huh. That kind of fits me. Recently I've often felt like the world's less real than it used to be. Although I don't have very vivid dreams at all... It's especially as if other people aren't real, but just robots with faces, that perhaps only activate when I'm around.

Exactly. Holy crap, I know that feeling. It's driving me nuts... well, I can't drive to some place I'm already at, but I can do donuts in the parking lot.
