Which season describes your Depression (and why)?

If you have times when you’re not depressed, or less depressed, does any season represent this?

Season that describes my depression: Winter.

Because I feel numb,lonely,alone.

Not depressed season: Summer.

Because I feel excited,happy,not alone.

I don't know - each season has it's own virtues & yucks, plus my depression has proved adaptable to all of them.

Season Virtue ----------------- Yuck
================================================================
Spring New life, renrewal ----- Newly renewed weeds
Summer Bright, warm ----------- Too bright/warm
Autumn Leaf colours ----------- Leaf raking

Winter White snow, ice crystals Navigating dirty slush/black ice

I am depressed most of the time but it hits me hardest around Christmas. It is a super stressful time for me. People expect me to get them gifts regardless of how tight my money is. Then I have so many family functions I have to goto. No one seems to understand that I can't make it for lunch because I work nights. "Well you are off Christmas night aren't you?" They don't consider that I worked the night before.
So I guess it boils down to it is a stressful time for me.

Wherever the season the weather is always changing. Winter is cold and dark and depressing, but I am more like an early spring girl. Nonsense.
Poor spring, I like spring! Nevertheless things don't change all year round.

February. I hate that month with a passion. It's that month alone that makes me hate winter completely.

My depression really goes away but I suppose I can deal a bit better during the summer.

So far no seasonal depression. I'm depressed year round, but the seasons I dislike the most are Spring and Summer. People seem out of control, all of litter on the ground is visible, old run down buildings, the homeless and displaced are in clear view and it just makes me sad that I can only do so much and it reminds me how close I am to being displaced as well. Also, the crime wave is higher...I don't like what I see during these seasons.

I love fall and winter. I like to hide in these seasons, I like the newness of the falling snow and how it makes everything look clean, like a blank canvas and since the rest of the world seems to hide during these cold seasons as well....it makes my world seem perfect.

This was a good question.

The Great Grey Beast February - From the book The Thief of Always by Clive Barker.

I hate January also, I get so tired during these two months in the late afternoon that sometimes even blue light doesn't help me. I guess the good part is that it is the only time of the year that I sleep very deeply.

I really like October, it is still generally nice weather and just feels so light. The oppressive heat of summer is gone and it isn't rainy like Spring. Plus, Halloween is the only holiday I truly love.

I actually get seasonal depression during summer--the sun's too bright, everyone expects you to be happy or at least energetic, and I don't do well in the heat! I also worry about money because there are less hours for work at my job during the summer.

I love autumn--the perfect weather for me is cool and overcast (not too dull, not too sunny). it helps that a lot of my closest friends have birthdays in the autumn too.

It's bad for me when the seasons shift. It gets really bad around November when the snow starts hitting hard, and one of my worst depressive episodes happened in February/March, when the snow was melting.

But what season embodies my depression? Maybe summer. Too full, too hot, too much room to disengage from my surroundings. There's something really inattentive/neglectul about summer. like you could be sad and no one will notice because of how hot it is.

Maybe I just don't like it because I'd be stuck at home with no school... bad memories surrounding the heat.

season that describes my depression: summer

feel diss connected, like I don't belong, like I'm taking up space, like I've missed out on so many experiences. longer hours of light bother me, heat bothers me. find I'm quick to lose my apitite in summer and my grip on reality.
despite getting depressed in all seasons, I'm probably least likely to be depressed in winter.

I love winter. love it
