Feeling low. I then don’t turn on many lights and avoid looking in mirrors. I guess it’s the feeling of wanting to hide away in the darkness. Frankly I wish the darkness would swallow me up, that I would become one with it forever.

I sometimes have occasion to take our dog out for late night walks. (I tend to do this if the weather forecast for the next day is for inclement weather & I'm concerned we may have difficulty getting him out.) Walking around the neighborhood late at night it's dark, quiet & the streets are fairly deserted... at least as much as they ever are in a large metropolitan area. Whenever I do this I always have the urge to tie our dog up somewhere where my wife would easily find him & walk off into the night never to be seen or heard from again.

The light in my roommate’s and my room expired. I was perfectly happy to sit in the dark for around a week while she was on a trip. She got back yesterday and, bless her, replaced it..... now it’s the best lit room in the apartment

This made me laugh because I can relate. I step outside the house and wonder what would happen if I just kept walking and walking and never returned home.....
